Labor Law Posting Changes in September/October 2018

To stay in compliance with theses recent changes, all businesses in these states with at least one employee on payroll must display theses updated postings in their locations. This post will be updated as additional changes are made to the months of September and October 2018.


Alaska

No Smoking:

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Public Health has issued a "No Smoking" notice. This notice reflects the new law prohibiting smoking and vaping in the workplace. The poster revision date is October 8, 2018.

Delaware

Sexual Harassment:

The Delaware Department of Labor, Division of Industrial Affairs has released a Sexual Harassment notice. The notice extends protections to all individuals and further defines the types of protected classes. The poster revision date is October 1, 2018.


Minimum Wage:

The Delaware Department of Labor, Division of Industrial Affairs has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $8.75/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 1, 2018.

Florida

Minimum Wage:

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $8.46/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 16, 2018.

Ohio

Minimum Wage:

The Ohio Department of Commerce has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $8.55/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 9, 2018.

Illinois

Job Discrimination & Sexual Harassment:

The Illinois Department of Human Rights has released their Job Discrimination and Sexual Harassment notice. The notice prohibits unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment and specifies protected classes. The poster revision date is October 5, 2018.

Massachusetts

Minimum Wage: The Massachusetts Attorney General's Office has updated the Wage & Hour Laws notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $12.00/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 31, 2018.

Minnesota

Minimum Wage:

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $9.86/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 29, 2018.

New Jersey

Earned Sick Leave:

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development has released their Earned Sick Leave notice. The notice states that employers must provide up to 40 hours of earned sick leave to their employees every benefit year. The poster revision date is October 4, 2018.

Minimum Wage:

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $8.85/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 23, 2018.

New Mexico

Minimum Wage:

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions has released an updated Minimum Wage notice. The update includes new information for tipped workers, enforcement of the law, and exemptions to the law. The revision date is September 13, 2018.

South Carolina

Unemployment Insurance:

The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation has updated their Unemployment Insurance notice. The notice reflects new website information on how to apply for unemployment benefits. The poster revision date is September 24, 2018.

South Dakota

Minimum Wage:

The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $9.10/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 24, 2018.

Vermont

Minimum Wage:

The Vermont Department of Labor has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $10.78/hour, effective on January 1, 2019. The poster revision date is October 17, 2018.


Sexual Harassment:

The Vermont Department of Labor has updated their Sexual Harassment notice. The notice reflects a change to the notice effective date. The poster revision date is October 17, 2018.
